How to choose the right Kenya safari guides

Start with money. Our Kenya safari guides on park fees and safari costs explain where your budget really goes, so you can compare quotes properly.

Next, timing. The month you travel changes the wildlife, the crowds and the price. Our month by month guide and the Maasai Mara timing guide cover the details.

Then the practical side. Visas, vaccines, travel insurance, what to wear and how to pay. Small things, but they make the trip smoother.

Finally, the trip style. Private or group joining, Land Cruiser or van, Kenya or Tanzania. Each of these Kenya safari guides ends with the trips that match it.

Turn this Kenya safari guides guide into a real trip

Reading about Kenya safari guides is the fun part. Planning around it is where most people get stuck. Here is how we take you from an idea to a confirmed trip, step by step, with no surprises.

  1. Send your dates. Message us on WhatsApp with your travel dates, how many people are coming and the ages of any children. Tell us if you have a budget in mind. We plan with it, not around it.
  2. Get a written quote. We reply with a clear price per person, what it includes and what it does not. No hidden park fees and no vague extras. If a cheaper camp or a shorter route makes more sense, we say so.
  3. Tweak it until it fits. Change a camp, add a night or swap a park. Ask as many questions as you like. Changes cost nothing until you confirm.
  4. Confirm with a deposit. A deposit holds your vehicle, guide and rooms. You get a written confirmation with every detail and the date the balance is due.
  5. Travel day. Your driver guide meets you at your hotel or the airport with a name board. You have their number and ours for the whole trip.

What every trip with us includes

Every Kenya safari guides plan we put together comes with the basics done properly. You ride in a safari vehicle with a pop up roof, with a professional driver guide who knows the parks. Water is in the cooler box and park fees are sorted in advance so you do not stand in a queue at the gate.

We also stay reachable. If something changes on the road, a flat tyre, a closed route or a sudden storm, we sort it and keep you posted on WhatsApp.

Paying safely

We share payment details in writing only and every payment gets a receipt. The payment options and the balance date sit on your written quote, so nothing is left to memory or a phone call.

Why book with a Nairobi team

We live here. We drive these roads all year, we know which camps are honest about their photos and we know when a park is too busy to enjoy. That local knowledge is what turns a good Kenya safari guides into a great one. Our Google rating sits at 5.0 from 46 reviews and we plan to keep it that way.

Ready when you are. Send us a message and we will put a plan together for you shortly.

Questions people ask

What is the best month for a Kenya safari?

July to October is best for the Great Migration in the Maasai Mara. January to March is dry and quieter with good game viewing. April and May are wet but cheapest. Good wildlife is possible all year.

How much are Kenya park fees in 2026?

The Maasai Mara charges non residents USD 100 per 12 hour ticket from January to June and USD 200 from July to December. Amboseli and Lake Nakuru are about USD 90 and Nairobi National Park about USD 80.

Do I need a visa for Kenya?

Most visitors apply online for an Electronic Travel Authorisation before they fly. Citizens of most African countries are exempt. Check the official portal for your passport.

Is Kenya safe for a safari?

Safari areas are well run and used to visitors. Follow your guide, stay in the vehicle in the parks and use normal city sense in Nairobi and Mombasa.

What should I pack for a safari?

Neutral clothes in layers, a warm jacket for early drives, a hat, sunscreen, binoculars and a camera with a zoom. Soft bags are best for small planes.

How much should I tip my safari guide?

A common guide is USD 10 to 20 per group per day for your driver guide, plus a small amount for camp staff. Tipping is appreciated, never required.
