Reviews from our Google Business Profile. Most are from safari guests, because golf trips are new for us. The planning team is the same.
My partner and I had such an amazing experience travelling to Maasai Mara with Authentic Fitness and Adventures. From the planning to the actual trip, everything was well organized, smooth, and stress-free.
Authentic Fitness and Adventure, especially Taii, truly exceeded my expectations. From the initial planning stages to the final execution of my trip, everything was flawlessly organized and detailed.

Had the best time on this Amboseli safari! We did actual walking safaris and game drives, saw tons of elephants with Kilimanjaro in the background…
Best experience ever, going to mara with Authentic is amazing, 10/10
Golf in Kenya: more courses than most visitors expect
The Kenya Tourism Board counts more than 42 golf courses in the country. Muthaiga first hosted the Kenya Open in 1967, and Karen Country Club hosted the 2026 Magical Kenya Open on the DP World Tour. On the coast, Vipingo Ridge calls itself Africa’s first PGA accredited course.
Nairobi’s main courses sit between about 1,700 and 1,830 metres. By Titleist’s rule of thumb that adds roughly 6 to 7 percent to your carry, so club down and enjoy it.
Golf in Kenya is open to visitors. Most clubs take a green fee, and some ask for a handicap certificate or a member to sign you in. We handle that, along with caddies, transport and rooms.

For companies
Treating your team to golf costs less than you think
A Team Golf Day starts from KES 14,500 per person, with transport, a coaching clinic, lunch and prizes. That is close to what many offices already spend on an end of year dinner, and nobody talks about the dinner in March.
You can also reward a top performer with a golf night away, host your best clients on a Kenya Open course, or take your leaders out of the boardroom for two days in the Rift Valley.

Team Golf Day
Built so first timers enjoy it as much as the low handicappers.
- Coaching clinic with a club professional at the range
- Nine hole team scramble
- Lunch, prizes and a photographer
- Transport from your office and back
- For 8 to 30 staff

Top Performer Reward
A golf night away for your best performer and a guest.
- A round each for two people
- One night at a golf hotel with dinner
- Private transfers both ways
- Printed voucher to hand over at the office
- Dates chosen by the winner

- Scoring, contests and branded prizes
- Dinner and awards evening
- Beginners clinic so non golfers join in
- Photos and a short video for your socials

Planning golf in Kenya with us, step by step
What happens between your first message and your first tee shot.
Your first message
Tell us the dates, how many golfers and where you are staying. That is enough for us to start planning golf in Kenya for you. If you have a course in mind, say so. If not, we suggest one that fits your handicap and your day.
The quote you get back
You get one written quote. Green fee, caddie, car, lunch and any hotel nights sit on separate lines, so you see where every shilling goes. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
On the day
Your driver collects you at an agreed time, waits during the round and takes you back. Our team checks the tee time with the club the day before and messages you if anything changes. Golf in Kenya runs on good timing, and we handle it.
Planning checklist
Before you message us, have your dates, the number of golfers, handicaps if you know them, where you are staying and whether you want lunch or a car. With that we can check golf in Kenya for you, and most people hear back the same day.
Why book through us
We know the clubs, we confirm tee times in writing and one driver stays with you all day. You pay one company for the green fee, the transport and the hotel, and you can reach our team on WhatsApp throughout the trip.
Golf in Kenya: what to know before you play
The questions visitors ask us most, answered before you pack your clubs.
Dress code
Golf in Kenya follows traditional club rules. Wear a collared shirt, tailored shorts or trousers and soft spike golf shoes. Denim, vests and football jerseys are usually not allowed on the course or in the clubhouse.
Handicaps and members
Most clubs welcome visitors. A few ask for a handicap certificate, and some weekend slots are kept for members and their guests. Tell us your handicap when you message and we match you to the right course for golf in Kenya on your dates.
Caddies
Caddies are part of golf in Kenya. They carry the bag, read the greens and know every tree on the course. Each club sets its own caddie fee and we add it to your quote. Tips are paid in cash on the day, and we tell you the usual amount at your club.
Weather and tee times
Nairobi mornings can be cool, so pack a light layer between June and August. The coast is hot and humid most of the year, so book an early tee time there. The long rains usually fall from March to May.
Altitude
Golf in Kenya’s highlands plays differently. At 1,700 to 1,830 metres the ball carries further, so most visitors take one club less than at home and still go long.
Getting there
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is the main arrival point for golf in Kenya. Muthaiga and Windsor sit north of the city and Karen to the southwest. Nairobi traffic decides drive times, so we plan pickups around it.
Questions golfers ask us
Can visitors play golf in Kenya without being club members?
Yes. Most clubs accept visitors who pay green fees, and some ask you to play with a member or show a handicap certificate. Authentic Adventures books the tee time and handles any introduction the club needs.
How much does golf in Kenya cost?
Published visitor rates we checked in October 2026 run from KES 5,000 for 18 holes at Nyali or Sigona on a weekday to KES 12,500 at Muthaiga on a weekend. Vipingo Ridge charges visitors USD 75. Our Nairobi Tee Time package starts from KES 19,500 per golfer with green fee, caddie, transport and lunch.
Which golf courses in Kenya have won awards?
The World Golf Awards named Karen Country Club Kenya’s Best Golf Course in 2024 and Muthaiga Golf Club in 2025. Both host the Magical Kenya Open. On the coast, Vipingo Ridge hosted the Magical Kenya Ladies Open four times between 2019 and 2024.
Can I combine golf and a safari?
Yes. Golf in Kenya pairs well with a safari. Our Golf and Safari package plays a round in Nairobi and at Great Rift Valley Lodge, then spends two nights in the Masai Mara. It starts from USD 1,950 per person sharing for six days. You can also build your own in the calculator on this page.
Do you organise corporate golf days?
Yes. Team Golf Days are the easiest way into golf in Kenya for a company. They start from KES 14,500 per person with coaching, a nine hole scramble, lunch, prizes and transport. We also run client golf days, leadership retreats and golf rewards for top performers.
When is the best time to play golf in Kenya?
Golf in Kenya plays well all year. The drier months, roughly January to March and June to October, give firmer fairways. The long rains usually fall from March to May and the short rains around November.
