Kenya introduced the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) system in January 2024, effectively making the country visa-free for all nationalities. The eTA replaces the previous e-Visa system and is simpler, faster, and cheaper to obtain.

How to Apply for Kenya eTA
Step-by-Step Process
- Visit the official eTA portal: etakenya.go.ke
- Create an account with your email address
- Complete the application form with your personal details, travel plans, and accommodation information
- Upload required documents:
- Passport bio page (valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates)
- Passport-sized photograph
- Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host letter)
- Return/onward flight ticket
- Pay the fee online (approximately $30 USD)
- Receive your eTA via email (usually within 3 business days)
- Print or save the eTA to show at immigration on arrival

- Transit passengers — If not leaving the airport, an eTA may not be required
- Diplomatic & official passport holders — May have different requirements

- 💛 Yellow Fever — Get vaccinated if coming from an endemic country (the certificate is checked at immigration)
