Which are the best all inclusive hotels in Mombasa?
These four hotels are the ones we price most often for clients who want all inclusive on the north coast. Each one is on the beach and runs a full all inclusive plan.
PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort in Shanzu is also listed as all inclusive on booking sites. Its rates are on request, so ask us for a current quote.
- Voyager Beach Resort, Nyali: big family resort, all inclusive as standard, about USD 230 to 320 per room for 2

What does all inclusive cover at Mombasa beach hotels?
It usually covers breakfast, lunch and dinner, snacks at set times and local drinks. Local drinks mean sodas, juice, tea, coffee and local beer, wine and spirits at the main bars.
It usually does not cover imported brands, cocktails off the standard menu, the spa, water sports or excursions. Bars and snack points close at set times. Ask for the hotel's all inclusive sheet before you pay so there are no surprises.
- Usually included: all main meals, snacks, local soft drinks and local alcohol
- Usually extra: premium drinks, spa, room service, motorised water sports
- Always check: bar hours, children's drinks and which restaurants are covered
Are all inclusive hotels in Mombasa worth the extra cost?
Yes for most families and groups. Sarova Whitesands charges about USD 65 per adult per night to upgrade from half board to all inclusive. That is about KES 8,400. If each adult has lunch and three or four drinks a day, you will spend more than that paying as you go.
Half board can be cheaper for couples who barely drink and want to eat out in Nyali. It also suits people who will be on day trips most days. Do the sum for your own group before you choose.

Which area is best: Nyali, Bamburi or Shanzu?
Nyali is closest to town, the malls and restaurants. Bamburi is the middle ground with many big resorts on one beach. Shanzu is further north and quieter. Nyali to Bamburi is only about 6 km, around 18 minutes by car.
All three are about 30 to 60 minutes from Mombasa Terminus and Moi International Airport, depending on traffic. Read more on our Nyali Beach and Bamburi Beach guides.
Which all inclusive hotels in Mombasa suit families?
Voyager and Sarova Whitesands are the strongest family picks. Sarova lists the Ozone Kids Club and a babysitting service. Voyager lets children under 2 stay free and gives children aged 2 to 11 sharing with two adults 50 percent off the half double rate.
Sarova lets children under 3 stay free and charges children aged 3 to 12 half the adult sharing rate. Child policies change, so we confirm them with your quote. For full family trips, see our Mombasa family holiday packages.
When are all inclusive prices lowest?
April to June is the cheapest time. Voyager's garden room drops to about USD 230 per night for two from 7 April to 30 June 2026. The same room costs about USD 320 from July to October and about USD 530 over Christmas and New Year.
The low season matches the long rains. Rain on the coast usually comes in heavy bursts with sun between them, so many people still enjoy the pool and the beach. Our best time to visit Mombasa guide has the month by month detail.
How do Mombasa all inclusive hotels compare with Diani and Watamu?
Diani has more all inclusive resorts on a wider, quieter beach. Neptune Village in Diani was about USD 256 per room on Travelocity in November 2026. Chale Island Resort, on its own island south of Diani, was about USD 400.
Watamu has smaller all inclusive resorts. Turtle Bay Beach Club was about USD 214 per room and Sun Palm Beach Resort about USD 145. Mombasa wins on easy access from the SGR and the airport. See our Diani all inclusive resort page to compare.
How do you get to your hotel from Nairobi?
Most of our clients take the SGR. Economy costs KES 1,500 one way and first class KES 4,500. The morning train reaches Mombasa Terminus at Miritini in the early afternoon, just in time for a late lunch at the hotel.
Flights from Nairobi take about an hour and land at Moi International Airport. From either arrival point, a private transfer to Nyali, Bamburi or Shanzu takes about 30 to 60 minutes. Traffic on the Nyali bridge and Links Road is heaviest in the evening, so we plan pick ups around it.
Our SGR Nairobi to Mombasa guide explains train times, classes and how to book tickets for children.
How do you book these hotels with us?
Send us your dates, number of adults and the ages of any children on WhatsApp. We check live rates at two or three hotels that fit your budget and send a clear quote.
Authentic Adventures books these hotels as part of a package with SGR or flights and transfers. You can pay a deposit by Mpesa, bank or card and clear the balance in instalments before you travel.
Tips to get the best rate
Book festive season rooms by September. Travel Sunday to Thursday where you can. Ask about resident rates if you live in Kenya, because some hotels price residents in KES at lower rates than their USD rack rates.
Check what the room type includes. A sea view room can add USD 30 to 70 per night at some hotels. A garden room with a short walk to the beach often gives the best value.
Finally, compare the total, not the nightly rate. A cheaper room that charges for every drink and lunch can cost more over three nights than a slightly dearer all inclusive plan. We show both options side by side in your quote so the choice is easy.

Do Mombasa all inclusive resorts include alcohol?
Most include local beer, wine and spirits at the main bars during set hours. Imported brands and premium cocktails are usually extra. Each hotel publishes an all inclusive sheet with its rules. We send it to you with your quote so you know exactly what is covered.
Is Voyager Beach Resort all inclusive?
Yes. Voyager's 2026 rate sheet lists its standard meal plan as all inclusive full board. Garden room rates run from about USD 230 to 320 per night for two outside the festive season. Half board is available for a small reduction.
What is the best all inclusive resort in Kenya for families?
On the Mombasa north coast, Voyager and Sarova Whitesands are the most popular with families because of their pools, space and child policies. In Diani, larger resorts like Leopard Beach list a kids club. The best one depends on your children's ages and your budget.
Is Mombasa or Diani better for an all inclusive holiday?
Mombasa is easier to reach from the SGR and the airport and is closer to town and day trips. Diani has a wider, quieter beach and more all inclusive resorts. Choose Mombasa for convenience and Diani for a slower beach holiday.
