- Day 1
Travel day and welcome dinner
The team meets at Nairobi Terminus for the 08:00 Madaraka Express. We hand out tickets and a short programme. The train arrives around 14:00 and a coach takes everyone to the hotel. Rooms are pre assigned, so check in takes minutes. The afternoon is free for the pool. In the evening, a welcome dinner sets the tone. Leaders can say a few words here.

Conference morning, team building afternoon
Start with breakfast, then the conference room from 08:30. A full day meeting package usually covers the room, a projector, two tea breaks and lunch. Keep the sessions short and focused. After lunch, our facilitator runs team building on the beach: relay games, problem solving tasks and team challenges. End the day with a group dinner, a DJ or a short awards session.

Wrap up and return
Hold a short wrap up session after breakfast to agree actions. Then choose a light activity: a sunset dhow, the Fort Jesus and Old Town tour or free time at the beach. After check out the coach takes the team to Mombasa Terminus for the 15:00 express, which reaches Nairobi around 20:18. Staff are home that night and back at work the next day.

How much do Mombasa company retreat packages cost?
Retreats cost from KES 42,000 per person for 2 nights with twin sharing. That covers SGR economy, coach transfers, all inclusive rooms at Bamburi Beach Hotel and a team building session. Add a full day conference and half board at a convention resort and it starts at KES 50,500 per person sharing.
Single rooms cost more, from about KES 69,000 per person on the conference format. Most companies mix the two: singles for senior staff and twin rooms for the rest. We price both in one quote.
Which hotels suit Mombasa company retreat packages?

- PrideInn convention resort, Shanzu: more than 10 meeting rooms and a banquet hall for up to 2,500 guests. Its 2026 resident conference package was KES 6,500 per person for a full day.
- Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort, Bamburi: a long beachfront and conference facilities that host regional events.
- Bamburi Beach Hotel: all inclusive for residents. Best for retreats that are more about bonding than meetings.
What team building works on a Mombasa retreat?
Beach team building is the favourite. Teams compete in relays, build things together, solve puzzles and race in the sand. It works for all fitness levels and takes about two to three hours.

Can we hold our end of year party in Mombasa?
Yes. Early December is the busiest time for company parties at the coast. Book by September or October for dates between 1 and 19 December. After 20 December hotels switch to festive rates and are full of families.
A typical party retreat has a light work session, a beach afternoon and a dinner with a DJ or band. Our end of year party packages page has more formats, including ones closer to Nairobi.
How do we move 50 staff to Mombasa?
By SGR. One train carries the whole team and everyone arrives together. Economy is KES 1,500 each way and first class KES 4,500. We book seats as a block, collect ID details in advance and give each person a ticket at the station.
Flights suit small leadership teams or senior staff joining late. For the coach at each end we use licensed operators. If your team prefers to travel by road, ask about our tour van hire.
How far ahead should we book Mombasa company retreat packages?
Book at least six to eight weeks ahead for groups under 50 and three months ahead for bigger groups. Hotels need time to block rooms and conference space. SGR block bookings also need early planning, especially around school holidays.
Midweek retreats from Monday to Thursday are easier to book and often cheaper. Weekend retreats compete with families and weddings for rooms.
How do companies pay for a retreat?
We send a formal quote with a per person price and a total. Once approved, we issue an invoice. A deposit confirms the rooms and train seats. We agree the balance date with your finance team.
Payment by bank transfer is most common for companies. Mpesa and card also work. Final numbers are usually confirmed two weeks before travel. We explain how changes after that affect the price.
Should we combine the retreat with a safari?
For leadership teams and rewards trips, a short safari adds real value. Tsavo East is close to Mombasa and works as a one or two night add on.

How to book Mombasa Company Retreat Packages
- Send your dates. Message us on WhatsApp with your dates, how many people are coming and the ages of any children. Tell us your budget. We plan with it, not around it.
- Get a written quote. We reply with a clear price per person, what it includes and what it does not. If a cheaper hotel or a shorter route makes more sense, we say so.
- Tweak it until it fits. Change a hotel, add a night or swap an activity. Changes cost nothing until you confirm.
- Confirm with a deposit. A deposit holds your rooms, seats and transport. You get a written confirmation with every detail and the date the balance is due.
- Travel day. Your driver meets you with a name board. You have their number and ours for the whole trip.

What is the minimum group size for a company retreat?
Our retreat prices are built for groups of 20 or more, which is when hotel group rates and coach transfers make sense. Smaller teams can still go. We simply price them with cars instead of a coach and normal room rates.
Can we hold a conference in Mombasa for 200 people?
Yes. Some North Coast resorts have very large halls. The PrideInn convention resort in Shanzu lists a banquet centre for up to 2,500 guests and more than 10 meeting rooms. We check availability for your dates.
Do retreat packages include a conference room?
Our conference format includes a full day meeting package, usually the room, a projector and screen, two tea breaks and lunch. The team retreat format does not, but we can add a room at the hotel's rate. We show both in the quote.
Can staff share rooms?
Yes. Twin sharing is the most common way to keep costs down. Rooms usually have two separate beds. Send us a rooming list and we pass it to the hotel. Senior staff or anyone with special needs can have a single room at the single rate.
Do you issue invoices for corporate bookings?
Yes. We send a formal quote first, then an invoice once you approve. Payment by bank transfer is most common for companies. We also accept Mpesa and card. Ask us if your finance team needs specific details on the invoice.
Can we bring our own facilitator or speaker?
Yes. Many companies bring their own trainer or speaker. We handle travel and rooms for them as part of the group. If you want us to run team building, our facilitator works around your sessions.
