Tour Highlights

Fort Jesus Museum — Explore the imposing coral stone fortress with its collection of ceramics, carved doors, and maritime artefacts. See the Omani Audience Hall, the Portuguese chapel, and the underground passage to the sea. The museum houses finds from the wreck of the Santo António de Tanná, a Portuguese frigate sunk in the harbour in 1697.

Old Town Mombasa — Wander narrow streets lined with intricately carved Swahili doors, overhanging balconies, and centuries-old coral rag buildings. Visit Mandhry Mosque (one of the oldest mosques in Kenya, dating to 1570), browse antique shops, and absorb the living culture where Arab, Indian, Portuguese, and African influences blend seamlessly.

Spice Market — End at the vibrant Mombasa spice market where you can see, smell, and purchase cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, vanilla, and dozens of other spices that once made the East African coast a magnet for international trade.
