Day by day plan
- Day 1
Nairobi to Dubai
You fly Nairobi to Dubai in about 5 hours 30 minutes. Dubai is one hour ahead of Nairobi. A driver meets you at arrivals and takes you to your hotel. Rest, eat and walk the neighbourhood. Keep your passport and visa copy with you. An early night helps, because the next two days are full.
- Day 2
Dubai city tour
A guide drives you past the Jumeirah Mosque, the Burj Al Arab and the Palm Jumeirah. You stop for photos at the Dubai Frame or the Jumeirah beach front. The afternoon is free for the Dubai Mall, the aquarium and the fountain show after dark. We can add a Burj Khalifa ticket on request.
- Day 3
Desert safari and dhow dinner
You rest by the pool in the morning. In the afternoon a 4×4 takes you over the dunes for a desert safari with a camel ride and sand boarding. You watch the sunset over the sand and eat a BBQ dinner under the stars. Another evening, a dhow glides along Dubai Creek or the Marina with dinner on board.
- Day 4
Dubai to Abu Dhabi
After breakfast you ride in a private car to Abu Dhabi, about 140 km and 90 minutes away. You visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque with a guide. Cover your arms and legs. Women also carry a scarf. Then you choose the Louvre Abu Dhabi or the Qasr Al Watan palace. You sleep in Abu Dhabi tonight, with a sunset walk on the Corniche.
- Day 5
Yas Island and back to Dubai
Today is theme park day on Yas Island. Ferrari World has fast rides and a Ferrari themed pavilion. Warner Bros World has indoor rides with cartoon heroes. Yas Waterworld suits hot afternoons. Tickets are extra and we quote them when you book. In the evening you ride back to Dubai for your final night.
- Day 6
Last shopping and flight home
You spend the morning at a mall or the gold souk for last gifts. Check out, then transfer to Dubai airport about three hours before your flight. You land in Nairobi the same day with a bag full of presents. Keep receipts for big items, since Kenyan customs may ask for them.

What a Dubai and Abu Dhabi package from Nairobi includes
Every Dubai and Abu Dhabi package from Nairobi starts with the same base. You get return flights, hotel nights with breakfast, private transfers and guided tours of both cities. Visa, theme parks and meals are priced separately so you only pay for what you want.
The price is built from the Dubai trip we already sell, with the Abu Dhabi tour and the extra night added on top. Compare it with our Dubai holiday packages from Nairobi if you want to see the Dubai only version.
- Choose 5 days if you are short of leave and 6 days if you want a slower pace
- Upgrade a hotel tier any time before you pay
- Add Ferrari World, Warner Bros World or a Louvre ticket to your Dubai and Abu Dhabi package from Nairobi on request
How far is Abu Dhabi from Dubai
Abu Dhabi sits about 140 km south west of Dubai. The drive takes 90 minutes to two hours, depending on traffic. Roads are wide, smooth and signposted in English.
Your Dubai and Abu Dhabi package from Nairobi uses a private car, so you stop when you like. Public coaches also run between the two cities, but a private car saves time at the mosque and on Yas Island.
Is one day enough for Abu Dhabi
One day gives you the mosque and one museum or one theme park. It does not give you both parks and the Corniche. That is why the 6 day Dubai and Abu Dhabi package from Nairobi includes a night in Abu Dhabi.
Choose the 5 day version if you mostly want Dubai and only a taste of the capital. Choose the 6 day version if you have children who want a full theme park day or adults who want to see the Louvre without rushing.

Must see places in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi has fewer skyscrapers than Dubai and more calm, so a Dubai and Abu Dhabi package from Nairobi feels balanced. These are the stops most visitors rate highest.
- Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: white marble domes, huge carpets and a free entry policy for visitors
- Louvre Abu Dhabi: a floating dome with art from many cultures and a shaded waterfront
- Qasr Al Watan: the presidential palace with grand halls and gardens
- Ferrari World and Warner Bros World on Yas Island: rides for teens and kids
- Corniche beach and Heritage Village: easy walks with sea views
What to wear at the mosque
Visitors cover their arms and legs. Women also cover their hair with a scarf. The mosque lends robes if you forget, but arriving dressed correctly saves a queue.
Hotel tiers for your Dubai and Abu Dhabi package from Nairobi
A 3 star hotel in Deira or Bur Dubai is clean, central and close to the metro. A 4 star hotel in Downtown or the Marina area gives you a bigger pool and a better breakfast. A 5 star hotel on Jumeirah or the Palm gives you a private beach and top service.
In Abu Dhabi we book a hotel near the Corniche or Yas Island, matched to your tier. We name every hotel in your written quote before you pay for the Dubai and Abu Dhabi package from Nairobi.
Visa for Kenyans: one visa for both cities
Kenyan passport holders normally need a UAE visa. One UAE visa is valid in every emirate, so you do not need a separate permit for Abu Dhabi. We confirm the current rule and fee when you book your Dubai and Abu Dhabi package from Nairobi.
You will need a passport valid for at least six months, a passport photo, your flight booking and your hotel booking. We prepare the file and submit it for you. Processing has recently taken about 3 to 5 working days. Renew your passport on eCitizen early if it is close to expiry.
Best months for a Dubai and Abu Dhabi package from Nairobi
November to March is the best window. Days are 24 to 30 degrees and the evenings are cool. It is also the busiest time, so book early. Dubai New Year weeks carry a premium, as shown on our Dubai New Year and December packages page.
April and October are warm and calmer. June to September is very hot, often above 40 degrees, so plan indoor parks, museums and pool time. Prices are lower then, which makes summer the cheapest time for a Dubai and Abu Dhabi package from Nairobi.
Costs on the ground
On a Dubai and Abu Dhabi package from Nairobi a fast food meal costs about AED 25 to 40 and a sit down dinner AED 60 to 150. The metro is cheap and taxis use meters. At about KES 35 to the dirham, plan KES 25,000 to 45,000 for spending money over 6 days.
Daily costs on a Dubai and Abu Dhabi package from Nairobi are similar in both cities. Abu Dhabi is a little cheaper than Dubai for taxis and a little more expensive for hotels near Yas Island. Cards work almost everywhere. Carry a small amount of dirhams for tips.
What to pack
- Light cotton clothes and a cardigan for cold malls
- A scarf and modest clothes for the mosque
- Swimwear, a hat and sunscreen
- Comfortable shoes for the malls and museums
- A UK style plug adapter and a power bank
- Printed hotel bookings, visa approval and passport copies
